Effect of Process Parameters on the Quality of Laser-Cut Stainless Steel Thin Plates

At present, laser cutting is currently employed to cut metallic plates, due their good finish and dimensional quality, as well because of the flexibility process obtain different shapes. In present paper, surface roughness, accuracy, burr thickness thin plates 0.8 mm are studied functions parameters: pulse frequency, width, speed. Eight experiments were performed according a full 23 factorial design, with two replicates each. Square specimens 10 × cut. Regression analysis performed, linear models obtained for each response. Results showed that depends mainly on interaction frequency width width. Dimensional Burr influenced by Multi-objective optimization that, in order simultaneously minimize three responses, it recommended use high (80 Hz), (0.6 ms), speed (140 mm/min). The study will help select appropriate conditions favor low thickness.
